The essential oil (EO) extracted from fresh leaves of Thymus schimperi by hydrodistillation had a yield of 1.39% (w/w). The oil was dark yellowish in color and exhibited a strong, spicy aroma. Chemical analysis using GC and GC–MS identified 57 compounds, accounting for 88.75% of the total essential oil.
