Bidens tripartita is a common and widespread species of plants in the sunflower family, commonly known as Three-lobe Beggarticks, Three-part Beggarticks, Leafy-bracted Beggarticks or Trifid Bur-marigold. It is native to much of India, Eurasia, North Africa, and North America, with naturalized populations in Australia and on some Pacific Islands.

The herb of B. tripartita, commonly known as bur-mari- gold, is used in folk medicine as a diuretic, sudori? c and an anti-in? ammatory agent. It is also used in the treatment of skin diseases and as a stimulant of immunological system. It has been employed in treating fevers, gravel, stone and bladder and kidney troubles, and was considered also a good styptic and an excel- lent remedy for ruptured blood vessels and bleeding of every description.
