Satureja montana, commonly known as winter savory or mountain savory, is a perennial, semi-evergreen herb belonging to the Lamiaceae family. It is native to the warm temperate regions of southern Europe, the Mediterranean, and parts of Africa. The plant features dark green foliage and produces summer blooms in shades of pale lavender, pink, or white. It is closely related to summer savory (Satureja hortensis L.), which differs in being an annual species.
