:Introduction

Kelussia odoratissima Mozaff. is an aromatic wild herb traditionally used in Iran as a culinary garnish. Despite its common use, limited information is available regarding its antioxidant properties. In this investigation, the methanolic extract of the plant was assessed for antioxidant activity through several methods, including the ?-carotene bleaching test, reducing power assay, thiocyanate method, accelerated oxidation of sunflower oil, and DPPH free-radical scavenging.

: Details
Kelussia odoratissima Mozaff., known locally in Iran as “Karafs-koohi,” is widely used as a culinary garnish in several regions of the country. Beyond its dietary use, the plant has a long history in traditional medicine, where it is valued for managing conditions such as hypertension, inflammation, ulcers, and heart-related disorders. Due to its declining natural populations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has classified Kelussia as an endangered species, and initiatives that support its cultivation and conservation are now receiving dedicated funding.
