Evolvulus alsinoides, commonly referred to as dwarf morning glory or slender dwarf morning glory, is a flowering species belonging to the family Convolvulaceae. In Indian Ayurvedic medicine, it is widely known as Vishnukranta or Shankhavel. The plant has a broad pantropical distribution and is naturally found across tropical and warm-temperate regions of Australasia, Indomalaya, Polynesia, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas.

It is a herbaceous species that may grow as an annual or a perennial, producing many slender stems that spread along the ground or rise slightly upward. The stems are covered with fine, appressed to spreading hairs. The leaves are borne on short stalks or are nearly stalkless, typically measuring about 0.7–2.5 cm in length and 5–10 mm in width.
