Ajuga orientalis, commonly called Oriental bugle or Eastern bugle, is a herbaceous flowering species native to the eastern Mediterranean region. It typically grows in coastal habitats such as sandy soils, dry scrublands, and lightly wooded areas. The plant is generally evergreen, though it may lose its leaves temporarily during particularly cold winters.

After about two to five years of growth, the plant typically reaches a height and spread of around 0.45 m. During spring and summer, it produces flowering stems measuring approximately 6–30 cm in length. Each stem bears between four and twelve tubular flowers, about 10–12 mm long, displaying cream to violet hues.
