Lavandula canariensis is an endemic species of the Canary Islands, an archipelago located off the northwest coast of Africa. Although the removal of endemic plant species from the islands is now prohibited, L. canariensis was previously exported to other regions, including Australia, where it was cultivated as an ornamental plant. This species occurs naturally on five of the seven Canary Islands. (Source: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0305197803001777)
