Introduction

Rosa damascena (Family: Rosaceae) is thought to be native of Middle East. Recent genetic test indicate that a more probable origin is the foothills of central Asia. Suitable for north Indian plains and hills, flower yield is 35 q/ha.

Other Details

The oil is also used in poor circulation, asthma and coughs, irregular menstruation, leucorrhoea, and uterine disorders. On the skin, it can be used for dry skin, eczema and sensitive skin. Vapor therapy of rose oil is helpful for some allergies, headaches, migraine, etc.
