: Details
Cyperus rotundus is a perennial species that can grow to about 140 cm in height. Its common names, “nut grass” and “nut sedge,” which it shares with the related Cyperus esculentus, come from its nut-like underground tubers. Despite their appearance, these tubers are not botanically classified as true nuts.
